I just couldn't resist chiming in here to say that the book, "All We Can Save," is a real gem. It's packed full of powerful witness, heart-centered activism and fearless creativity. The perfect antidote to climate despair.
Great read! As someone who is finally making the pivot to nature/science writing (after decades as a healthcare writer), it's always good to read such encouraging wisdom.
I am very much enjoying these interviews - shared perspectives and new insight of how to impact others. The reminder that our writing as appreciators of nature can make a difference and Katharine's, "I love greens in all of her shades."
Great to get to know you better Katherine. I love your story about falling into the great spaciousness and timelessness of the living world. I agree All we Can Save is the best book to read on climate action, holding truth, care, passion and relatedness so beautifully
I so appreciate this interview. I have a copy of All We Can Save and have yet to open it. This is a good reminder to do so. And to keep sharing my nature-inspired poetry. Thank you, Julie and Katherine!
I have to return to All we Can Save a few times a year to remind myself of all the goodness, especially the way that Katharine and Ayana began the book.🌱
Julie, thank you for your generosity and curiosity. Your reciprocity column is a great service on Substack. I can’t wait to share your answers to your questions next week!🌱🌿💚
I got stuck on Katherine's painting of an eel and wondering what seeing it says about my psychological state. Where's Rorschach when I need him?
Beyond that, so much to read, so little time to do it. It's helpful to have these mini book reviews to help choose one. My reading these days is limited because of double vision - but that will hopefully soon be solved with new glasses. I don't know if any of these are audio books, but I don't much like them anyway.
Gosh, Phil, sorry about the eel. That was not my intention. But now that I look from your perspective, I see a being.
If I may...I feel that illustrating nature's colors is difficult, from a human perspective. (Birds can see deeper blues than we can.) This blue is one that I love and worked hard to express. The painting is intended to be an exhale, and representative of kinship with the animated world.
I do believe that most everything is available on audio.
Maybe your new glasses will gift you with reading again. If so, All We Can Save is a great way to return to reading because it's an anthology of about 40 essays.
I feel so inspired reading this interview and just went down several rabbit holes following the references. It gives me such an uplift to read the powerful agency coming through this story and introduction to Katharine Becket Winship - thank you.

I’m happy this resonates with you, Sally. And, yes, that book is full of inspiration.
Thanks, Sally. I appreciate the way Wilkinson has made it so easy to duplicate the All We Can Save Circles.🌿

Thank you for your reply, Katharine and for the good endorsement on All We Can Save.
Annette, thanks for reading. I enthusiastically encourage you to dip into all We Can Save. Every essay and poem may not speak to you but some will!
Wonderful! Thanks to you both. It was so great to hear from Katharine.
Thanks for joining in, Rebecca!
Rebecca, thank you for your work. I'm not sure my non-native digital self got Matters of Kinship on your magnificent list. I will check.💙
Thank you for this beautiful collaboration. I'm so glad to be able to listen & nod along. All the best to you both.
So glad you’re here as part of this community, Janisse. 💚

Thanks for participating, Katharine! And for asking me to answer them, too. A couple of them were harder than I expected. 😉
Julie thanks for bringing this interview to this space! The work Katharine is doing is so important. 🌟
Thanks for being here, Brian. I’m glad you’re finding meaning from her work, as I do.
Thanks, my brother 🌱

I think the way I found it is through Julie's great idea of the Reciprocity interviews.

Joan, I’m so glad you keyed into her points. I’m inspired too! Thanks for reading.
Wow, Joan! Thanks for your curiosity. One of my development opportunities has always been which rabbit hole??
I hope these work for you.
🌱
Wonderful interview, and thank you both for all the additional resources provided. I have some homework! (I love homework.)
Thanks, Stephanie. I love homework, too!🌱
