So good, I’m just catching up! You’ve created some really great tension between these two already. I’m intrigued to see where it goes.

I have no idea what Twizzlers are but have a feeling I might hate them on principal!

Grace, the epitome of well behaved - almost ! What I love is her outer poise amidst inner turmoil - brilliantly written Julie and narrated!

Thanks so much, Susie! Twizzlers are awful, indeed. Red dyed sugar basically. I’m so glad you’re enjoying the story.

My stomach was in knots. How dare he accuse her of falsifying data! I have no idea what she’ll do next with the pseudo-Faustian bargain offer, but can’t wait to find out!

Well, let's do just that ... talk about my research ... the snorty tone I sort of act out when reading Dr. Grace. That special logo'ed water bottle but no judging since the entire package of Twizzlers was eaten.

Love this ...

Gah this is brilliant Julie! Man, your dialog is masterful. So much revealed through simple gestures and choice words. And what a fun turn in their connection, though I sense James is quite happy manipulating the entire thing.

The cluttered counters and middle of the night time slot ring so true to reality. Love this chapter of Grace at the crossroads.
