Julie! I listened to Marie Howe read her poem twice. And you gorgeous words were joyful to taken in. I keep thinking of this passage. “How does one net a liquid living light, or contain the energy that drives the universe? It doesn’t want me to tell stories. It wants me to let go and be ravished.”
To letting go and being ravished! Thank you much for sharing. 🌅
This is the first time I’ve seen your page and was immediately drawn to your most recent post, “Question Everything” as it is extremely relevant to my life right now. Typically when that happens, I wouldn’t think twice before diving in but something in me said to keep looking. As I read through the list of posts, there were more I felt I could relate to but for some reason felt a pull to read this one, though I had no clue what it was about.
You had me as soon as I saw the painting. (I’ve had my watercolors out all day, staring at the blank page...stuck.) The way you write is so real and full of emotion, I could almost feel the sun on my skin, the rocking of the boat. At the end when you mention being one with universe, how we are all connected, it made me think of something I learned only recently and have been thinking about a lot (and goes along with this). We are all essentially made of stardust. I think that’s pretty damn cool.
Yes!! I just was reminded of this very thing from a podcast - the one I shared in Notes yesterday. Thank you for reading and especially for this lovely message.
Julie this whole piece is amazing! I don't have the words to tell you. The poem, which is definitely enchanting, and your connection to it. Thank you for showing us the sacred in the everyday, although that boat trip was (hopefully) not an everyday type of situation!
Thank you! I appreciate your reading and glad it resonates. And, YES, 100%, I make it my full-time job to avoid storms on the water. Unfortunately, the weather doesn't really care, so it's not always avoidable. 😱

Oh, so many quotable lines in here! What a radiance you close in your hand and release again. I love the matching columns of light in the water bottle and the Pantheon, one from within, one from elsewhere. And then your experience on the Bay and Marie Howe's poem "tilt" toward each other in a way that enhances the poem. Beautiful!
